Soul Sounds to Bring the Magic of a Classic Christmas to Cinnamon Grand Colombo.

The enchanting sounds of Christmas will once again fill the Atrium of Cinnamon Grand Colombo as ‘Moods of Christmas,’ one of the city's most anticipated festive musical traditions, returns on Sunday, the 20th of December 2026, featuring Sri Lanka's internationally acclaimed all-female vocal ensemble, Soul Sounds.
Under the musical direction of renowned pianist, choral director and music educator Soundarie David Rodrigo, the concert promises an evening of beautiful harmonies, nostalgic melodies and festive cheer, celebrating the magic of Christmas through music.
Having delighted audiences for more than two decades, Moods of Christmas has earned a special place in Colombo's festive calendar. The longstanding collaboration between Soul Sounds and Cinnamon Grand Colombo has made the annual concert a cherished seasonal experience, drawing music lovers, families and friends together in celebration of the season.
This year's concert will take audiences on a nostalgic musical journey with the theme, Classic Christmas, celebrating the timeless carols and beloved Christmas melodies that have been passed down through generations. From traditional favourites to beautifully arranged choral performances, the programme will capture the warmth, joy and sentiment that make Christmas music so special. Adding an exciting element to this year's celebration, Soul Sounds will also be joined by renowned music experts for special guest performances. The surprise collaborations promise to bring fresh musical interpretations and memorable moments to an evening already rich in festive tradition.
Speaking about the upcoming concert, Soundarie David Rodrigo, founder and music director of Soul Sounds, reflected on the significance of the annual celebration. “Christmas music has a wonderful way of bringing people together, evoking memories and reminding us of what makes this season so meaningful. Moods of Christmas has been a very special tradition for us over the years, and it is always a joy to return to Cinnamon Grand Colombo and share the music we love with our audiences. Known for its versatility, the ensemble has captivated audiences with a diverse repertoire encompassing classical, gospel, contemporary and other musical genres, while remaining celebrated for its distinctive harmonies and expressive performances.

With its combination of familiar Christmas favourites, exceptional vocal performances and special musical surprises, this year's Moods of Christmas promises to be a memorable addition to Colombo's festive celebrations. The concert will take place on Sunday, 20th of December 2026, from 6.00 p.m. onwards, at The Atrium, Cinnamon Grand Colombo.
