By: Amaya Perera
Colombo is set for a major celebration of South Asian music as BEHETH returns for its second season, bringing together an ambitious mix of artists, genres and cultures at one of Sri Lanka’s most iconic venues.
Following the impact of its debut season, BEHETH Season 2 will take place on Saturday, 5th September 2026 at the Colombo Lotus Tower. The festival is expected to welcome between 8,000 and 10,000 people for more than 10 hours of live music, with over 40 artists and DJs scheduled to perform throughout the day and into the night.
Positioned as South Asia’s Biggest Crossover, the second edition aims to go beyond the format of a conventional concert by creating a meeting point for some of the sounds and creative communities shaping contemporary music across Sri Lanka and the wider region.
Sri Lankan hip hop will be at the centre of the festival, with Costa, Chey 9, Lil Rome Praba, Reezy, King Lotuss, Sosa, DK and AJ Leon among the artists taking the stage. Rashiyadu Padanama will also feature, bringing together 01 Punchi Malith, Chathuwa and BabeOnDaBeat. The lineup reflects the continued evolution of Sri Lanka’s hip hop movement, showcasing a generation of artists who have developed distinct sounds, styles and identities while contributing to the growth of the country’s contemporary music culture.
Tamil rap will also play a significant role in BEHETH Season 2, highlighting a movement that has had a lasting influence on Sri Lanka’s urban and underground music scenes while connecting local audiences with a broader South Asian music culture.Acclaimed Tamil rap artists Yogi B, Dr Burn and Emcee Jesz are set to perform, adding another dimension to the festival’s crossover identity and strengthening the cultural exchange that sits at the heart of BEHETH.

International influences will continue throughout the festival with BabeOnDaBeat, Kuya Kai and a wider selection of DJs bringing global sounds to Colombo. Audiences can expect music spanning hip hop, Afro, Amapiano, Baile Funk and other international genres across more than 10 hours of performances.
In one of the festival’s most unexpected cross genre moments, pioneering Sri Lankan heavy metal band Stigmata will make a special appearance. Their inclusion brings the energy of Sri Lanka’s metal scene into a predominantly hip hop led festival and further underlines BEHETH’s focus on bringing different musical communities together.
With more than 40 artists, international performers, multiple genres and over 10 hours of music, BEHETH Season 2 is positioning itself as more than a large-scale festival. It is intended as a celebration of the artists, communities and creative movements contributing to the changing sound of South Asian music.
BEHETH Season 2 takes place on Saturday, 5th September 2026 at Colombo Lotus Tower from 9.00 AM onwards. Tickets are available at: tickets.behethconcert.com.
