Island Market Townhall Edition Brings Community Together

The Island Market’s Townhall Edition took place on 27 September at the Town Hall outdoor car park, drawing together a lively mix of makers, bakers and creatives from across the island. Visitors enjoyed browsing over 50 stalls featuring handmade crafts, batik clothing, jewellery, homeware, baked goods and more, while also experiencing live music, open mic sessions, a children’s play area and Sri Lanka’s largest picnic on the green.

More than just a shopping experience, the event continued its mission of supporting small businesses, especially women-led ventures and entrepreneurs with disabilities. Organized in collaboration with Child Action Lanka, this edition also highlighted important social causes, while offering vendors opportunities to connect with customers, mentors and retail partners. The event stood as a true celebration of community, creativity and resilience.
