Nihonbashi, Sri Lanka’s iconic Japanese restaurant, celebrated an incredible milestone, 30 years of culinary artistry, at an elegant evening hosted on the 28th of June 2025 at Port City, Colombo. The celebration paid homage to three remarkable decades of shaping the Japanese dining experience in Sri Lanka.
Guests gathered to honour founder and celebrity chef Dharshan Munidasa, a trailblazer in the industry and a recipient of The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays. The evening blended Japanese tradition with contemporary flair, offering a memorable experience for those who have supported Nihonbashi’s journey since its inception.
From its humble beginnings in 1995 to becoming a symbol of authenticity and refinement, Nihonbashi continues to set the standard for Japanese cuisine in the region. The 30th anniversary celebration was not only a tribute to the past but also a toast to the future of exceptional dining.
