A Joyous Diwali Celebration of Lights

The Indian Cultural Association (ICA), in collaboration with the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre of the High Commission of India, hosted a vibrant Diwali Celebration at the Waters Edge Hotel, Battaramulla. The evening brought together families and friends to celebrate the Festival of Lights with great enthusiasm and cultural spirit.

The event featured a lively concert by Hemant Nigam and a special performance by Raavan’s, adding a musical charm to the night. Guests enjoyed an evening filled with music, dance, and delicious Indian cuisine, reflecting the warmth and joy that Diwali represents.

The beautifully lit venue, colourful attire, and festive ambience created a memorable night of togetherness and cultural harmony, marking yet another successful celebration by the Indian Cultural Association.

Recognized for her contributions to digital media, Rishini was honoured with the Top50 Professional and Career Women’s Global Award in 2023 for Leadership in Digital Media in Sri Lanka by Women in Management, IFC (a subsidiary of the World Bank) and Australia Aid, and the 2025 Sri Lanka Vanitha-Abhimana Award for the Corporate and Professional Sector. Under her guidance, her team has achieved significant accolades, including Social Media House of the Year (2020, New Generation Awards), Youth Corporate Award (2021, New Generation Awards) and the Silver Award from YouTube for both Daily Mirror Online and Lankadeepa Online. Currently, Rishini divides her time between London and Colombo, continuing to drive innovation in media while championing powerful storytelling across multiple platforms.
