World Oceans Day 2026 Celebrated with Launch of Limited-Edition Whale Shark Pendant

In celebration of World Oceans Day 2026, Oceanswell and Colombo Jewellery Stores (CJS) jointly hosted a special event to raise awareness about marine conservation and highlight the importance of protecting whale sharks and other marine life.

The event featured a presentation by Dr. Asha de Vos, Founder and Executive Director of Oceanswell, who shared insights into marine conservation efforts and the significance of safeguarding Sri Lanka’s ocean ecosystems. A key highlight of the occasion was the unveiling of a limited-edition Whale Shark Pendant, specially designed to commemorate World Oceans Day.

Organizers noted that 100 percent of the proceeds from the sale of the pendant will be directed towards supporting ocean conservation initiatives. The event brought together conservation advocates, invited guests, and supporters to celebrate the ocean through awareness, conservation, and craftsmanship.
