Hashan Cooray’s ‘Nothing Casts a Shadow Alone’ Exhibition Opens in Colombo

Art enthusiasts gathered for the opening preview of “Nothing Casts a Shadow Alone,” a solo exhibition by Sri Lankan artist Hashan Cooray, presented by the Saskia Fernando Gallery. The exhibition showcases a new body of work that explores space and human presence through layered mixed-media paintings and installations.

Through a multidisciplinary approach combining drawing, painting, digital art, installation and mixed-media collage, Cooray’s work moves beyond conventional portraiture, presenting figures that emerge and dissolve within layered surfaces. The exhibition offers viewers a dynamic exploration of relationships, form and spatial perception.

The opening preview was held in Colombo, welcoming art lovers and members of the creative community to experience Cooray’s latest artistic expressions. The exhibition will remain open to the public until 23 March 2026.
