MERCEDES-BENZ FASHION WEEK SRILANKA 2026

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Sri Lanka (MBFWSL) has officially announced the dates for its 2026 edition, set to take place from 7–11 October 2026 at the iconic Cinnamon Life at City of Dreams in Colombo. With this announcement, the country’s premier fashion platform once again extends an open invitation to the global fashion community; welcoming the world home to Sri Lanka for a week that celebrates creativity, craftsmanship, and contemporary design on an international scale.

The announcement marks a significant milestone in MBFWSL’s ongoing journey to firmly position Sri Lanka on the global fashion and creative industries calendar. More than a fashion week, MBFWSL has evolved into a cultural platform, one that champions South Asian creativity while fostering meaningful connections between local designers and global fashion ecosystems. Presented by the Academy of Design (AOD) and powered by DIMO, the only authorised agent for Mercedes-Benz in Sri Lanka, MBFWSL continues to reflect a long-term commitment to excellence, innovation, and world-class production values.

This enduring partnership has played a pivotal role in shaping a fashion week that is not only internationally relevant but also deeply rooted in Sri Lanka’s unique design heritage. As part of the prestigious Mercedes-Benz Global Fashion Map, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Sri Lanka connects Colombo to an influential network of fashion capitals across the world. This global affiliation underscores the platform’s credibility while providing Sri Lankan and South Asian designers with access to international visibility, collaboration, and opportunity. The 2026 edition builds on this foundation, positioning Colombo as a dynamic crossroads where global fashion meets South Asian design intelligence. The theme of ‘welcoming the world home’ is central to the vision for MBFWSL 2026.

Colombo, long recognised for its cultural richness, strategic location, and growing luxury landscape, will once again serve as the backdrop for an international fashion experience that goes beyond the runway. Designers, creative leaders, buyers, media, and invited guests from across the world will gather in the city to engage with fashion that is contemporary, responsible, and globally resonant. Over the course of five days, MBFWSL 2026 will present a carefully curated programme celebrating fashion, culture, and the future of creative industries in Sri Lanka.

The week will showcase collections from established and emerging designers, alongside conversations and collaborations that reflect the evolving role of fashion in a rapidly changing world. Sustainability, craftsmanship, innovation, and cultural exchange remain at the heart of the platform’s ethos. Cinnamon Life at City of Dreams, Colombo’s newest integrated lifestyle destination, provides a fitting home for the 2026 edition. With its world-class infrastructure and modern design sensibility, the venue mirrors MBFWSL’s ambition to deliver an experience that meets international benchmarks while remaining unmistakably Sri Lankan. The setting reinforces Colombo’s growing status as a destination city for luxury, design, and creative enterprise. MBFWSL has consistently played a transformative role in nurturing Sri Lanka’s fashion ecosystem.

Through mentorship, education, and global exposure, the platform has helped bridge the gap between local talent and international markets. Its emphasis on long-term industry development, rather than seasonal spectacle, has earned it a distinct reputation among
