Sadie Frost

In the third episode of the insightful series HAK IT, Sakshi Chhabra Mittal, the visionary CEO and Founder of FoodHak, engages in an intimate and inspiring conversation with Sadie Frost, an iconic figure in the realms of film, fashion, and wellness.

Sadie Liza Frost is an English actress, producer, and fashion designer whose career has spanned over three decades. Known for her roles in films such as Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1992), The Krays (1990), Shopping (1994), and A Bird Flew In (2021), Frost has made her mark in film, theatre, and television. Beyond acting, she co-founded the production company Natural Nylon with Jude Law, Ewan McGregor, and Jonny Lee Miller, producing notable works like eXistenZ (1999) and Nora. Later, she co-produced the Angelina Jolie and Gwyneth Paltrow-starrer Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow and launched her own fashion label, Frost French, which gained prominence in the 2000s.
In this episode, Mittal introduces Frost as “one of the most accomplished women in the UK, a well-established actor, director, mother, and yoga teacher.” Their conversation unfolds as Frost reflects on her early life, her journey in the creative industries, and her long-standing connection with wellness and ethical living.
Frost shares, “I grew up in Camden, and it has always been a special place for me. My mum was one of the first stallholders in Camden Market, selling antiques, and I would spend hours with her there. From a very young age, I had a strong sense of empathy, I remember crying whenever I saw a wounded animal. I never liked eating meat or fish, even as a child, and I practiced ahimsa, the principle of non-harming, both towards oneself and animals.”
This early compassion led Frost towards vegetarianism and later, a deeper exploration of holistic living. When asked by Mittal how she came across yoga, Ayurveda, and other wellness practices, Frost recounts a pivotal moment in her teenage years. “I have a lung condition called bronchiectasis. When I was about 15, doctors suggested a major operation to remove my left lung. I didn’t want that. Instead, I was advised to try yoga and breathwork to strengthen my lungs. That’s how my journey began.”
Frost reveals that her commitment to yoga was initially sporadic, intertwined with her early career in acting and dance. “I was at a stage school on a scholarship, and I kept coming back to yoga whenever life felt out of balance. But about 20 years ago, I decided to fully commit, to really change my lifestyle and take my health into my own hands.”
Throughout the conversation, Frost emphasizes the emotional and psychological benefits of her practice, particularly for those dealing with respiratory challenges and anxiety. Her philosophy is rooted in compassion, mindfulness, and an enduring respect for all living beings, values that resonate deeply with the ethos of FoodHak.
The episode offers viewers an intimate glimpse into Frost’s life beyond the screen, as a mother, a wellness advocate, and a woman who continues to evolve with purpose. Mittal’s thoughtful questions and Frost’s candid reflections create a dialogue that is both inspiring and relatable, reminding us of the power of conscious living and resilience in the face of challenges.
As HAK IT continues to explore stories of remarkable individuals, this conversation stands out as a testament to how personal struggles can pave the way for transformation, in health, career, and life itself.
